The Hostel

The Village Baxter is redeveloping the Low Care Aged Care Facilities and consolidating all services into a single 60 bed facility.  The main Hostel is being progressively closed as current Residents move on to other levels of care. A planning permit has been secured and site works will commence in the coming weeks. The entire redevelopment process will take 1 – 2 years.

Applications for accommodation in the main Hostel are no longer being accepted. Residents living with the Village Baxter Retirement Village can be ‘wait listed’ for accommodation in the existing Lodge (Low care facility) provided that the necessary assessment process has been completed and the Village’s own internal assessment team believe that the Lodge is an appropriate facility for the Resident.

Applications for persons living in the general community to move into the Village’s Aged Care Facilities are not being accepted at this time.

A significant portion of the main hostel is progressively being converted into independent living apartments which offers a more communal environment whilst still retaining independence. Please see The Apartments page for additional information.
